Elational life

That glorious feeling of being in love! The boost of energy- the streaming sensation that says all is right with the world. The tingling electric energy that runs through our whole bodies at the slightest touch from our love. The free, exuberant, erotic, raunchy, loving, peaceful, consensual expression of pleasure.

What if we consciously cultivated that feeling daily, let our young people discover that also, and that its our natural state of being?

Pleasure eases pain, good sex de-fuses tension, love lessens violence, and you can’t very well fight a war while you are having an orgasm!

What if our societies were guided by these philosophies?

Since humans began to build and settle down, there have been two versions of the world; the world made with wood, and the world made with coal and oil. One lasted 12 to 15 millenia, the other has lasted about 250 years so far, and is crumbling into non being.

Humans arose through the exercise of memory, reason and skill in a world that was warming and blooming. Memory gave to reason its material and skill proved a thought to be true (or not). Skill suggested a turn of the wrist, memory preserved it, reason compared it.

Economy

What is economics for anyway?

On their website, the American economic association says “its the study of scarcity. The study of how people use resources and respond to incentives”.

Anything and everything in a market is implicitly defined as scarce. With scarcity as the main principle, the mindset that follows is based on commodification of everything and anything that can be commodified.

We say that economics is to be cooperative and give all people the joy of working from their passion, abundant leisure to play and grow inwardly, as well as a simply rich and beautiful life for all.

In this economy, money would no longer be the sovereign lord; individual worth would have a far greater importance than that of material wealth and social standing. There, work would not be a way to earn one’s living but a way to express oneself and to develop one’s capacities and possibilities while being of service to the community as a whole, which, for its own part, would provide for each individual’s subsistence and sphere of action.

Organization and governance

Governance:

We are creating a form of government in which the nonhuman constituency of the land are given an equal voice in decisions that determine the fate of all members of the commonwealth of living beings.

We are governed by the principle of LEALU: life, equality, abundant love, unity.

Spiritual principles:

Mentalism: The all is mind, and the universe is mental.
Correspondence: “As above, so below; as below, so above”.
Vibration: “Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates”.
Polarity: Everything is dual, with pairs of opposites that are identical in nature but different in degree.
Rhythm: “Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides”.
Cause and Effect: “Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause”.
Gender: There is a masculine and feminine principle at all levels of reality.

Unity in diversity:

A dynamic in which governance/organization decisions can be made in which we can understand that there are always polarities in community because there is diversity. There are four general polarities we will use to create dialogue.

  1. Elder/long experience
  2. Youth/innovation
  3. Maleness
  4. Femaleness

We also use the concept of dis-sensus. Consensus means we pool ideas, and come up with the best way. Dis-sensus, means we do NOT rely on past experience, we go research and find ways not thought of yet that are for the good of the entire community, not just the individual, and then the best ideas are chosen.

Legal structure:

We are not engaged in commerce and contracts, so we have no need of a “legal” structure.

Internal organization:

We are a living laboratory for human unity, open to development from the participants.

Cohabitation Dehesas

Dehesa- The word comes from the old growth multifunctional agrosylvopastoral systems of Spain. The dehesas of Spain (Montados in Portugal) are examples of ecosystems where humans play a constructive role, maintaining and improving the landscape to benefit wilderness, all its inhabitants and humans equally. The area of land belongs to the village/cohabitors in common.

Forests seem permanent and natural. Few are. For at least 6,000 years men and women have shaped the woods. The forests as we know them are products of craft/art-ing.

Up until our time a forest was not a wilderness. From it might be harvested timber, firewood, tanbark, charcoal, fence and hurdle poles, splints for wattle, grass to pasture sheep, goats, cattle, horses, bison and more, acorns to fatten hogs, honey from beehives, ink from oak galls. In return, the users left the dung of the grazing animals.

A good dehesa looks like a park. The principal trees are oak, and under the trees are grasses and many more forage plants.

No one gets individually rich on a Dehesa, yet all live well. It requires a complex code of use allied to half a dozen crafts (or more) in a system of care and protection for all who come after. This has been going on since the bronze age and before. Since the Neolithic age crops have been planted among the trees.

The human attributes-courage, faithfulness, patience, fortitude, prudence and honor were forged where the faculties met, in the making of home in the world.

Human beings learned from the woods around them. The more the people worked with the oak, the more the oak taught them what it could do.

When we talk about prehistoric Britain we tend to think of Stonehenge. What we seldom realize is that Stonehenge is by no means unique. Most of the henges that have been excavated were largely or entirely made of oak posts.

The shapes and patterns of all the henges are called entropic because it is thought that they were created within the eyes itself.

The human mind grew through the knowledge born of Art, of Craft, and in order to make, our ancestors had to imagine. In order to imagine, they had to make. Between thinking/imagining and making (art-ing/crafting) the world we know emerged.

To imagine and to make (art, craft) are reinforcing pairs that awaken your spirit to life a big talented full-filling life.
